Abi Martin (pronouns she/her/hers) was raised in Tokyo, Japan and moved to the United States in 2006. She received her B.A. in Philosophy from Seattle University in 2011. After spending several unfulfilling years in technology sales, she felt it was time for a change. In 2016, she attended Antioch University Seattle and earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2021. She was a pre-doctoral intern at the Center for Multicultural Training in Psychology (CMTP) for the 2020-2021 training year. She is currently completing a post-doctoral fellowship at Boston University School of Medicine/Boston Medical Center. Her research has focused on increasing access to services for adolescents and youth with co-occurring substance use disorders and psychiatric disorders. Her clinical work is also focused on treating co-occurring disorders in adults. Her additional interests include multicultural clinical practice, biracial and international experiences, intersectionality, the development of social privilege awareness, and relational psychodynamic theory.
